Kama Relief gave food rations to the needy

Food insecurity and hunger persist in Afghanistan. As per the United Nations and (OCHA) currently, more than 50% of Afghanistan’s population – over 17 million people – live under the national poverty line. COVID-19 makes the hunger problem worse. The price of food is on the rise for items like wheat flour and cooking oil have increased by substantial amounts.

KRC provides simple food rations both on a one time basis (many hundred of families receive this) and also on a monthly basis (selected are the poorest families, including many orphan families and widows). We increase our ration distributions substantially during Ramadan and during winter. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The best of you are those who feed others.”

This program also zakat eligible and Kama Relief will give zakat in the form of food rations after taking permission from the recipients to accept the zakat in the form of goods instead of cash. You can provide basic food supplies to families for only $35/month. The gratefulness the families feel and the duaa they will make for you when they receive some simple flour, oil, and other necessities, is invaluable. Support a whole family for a year, or for a month.
